OKI•VACAY introduces the "Steps from the Beach" Cottage. Feel the ideal blend of vintage appeal and modern comfort at our attractively modernized two-bedroom, one-bath bungalow on Oak Island, NC. Just steps from the beach (literally across the street), this enchanting getaway maintains its nostalgic character while offering refreshed amenities. Appreciate the comfortable living spaces adorned with classic coastal décor, entirely equipped kitchen, and inviting bedrooms that promise restful nights.This Cottage offers 2 full bedrooms with Queen Size beds and also has an open loft upstairs (not shown in pics). Please keep in mind that this area is ideal for kids playing games or additional storage but when this Cottage was constructed the pathway up the stairs was typical to be narrow since it was mostly used for storage or attic. Note: There is another Cottage adjacent to this property that shares a huge outdoor deck with plenty of private space for each unit (Please see in pics). Excellent for a two-family vacation as they can be rented together. Having beach access across the street it can also host a modest wedding with pre & post ceremony gathering as well as a modest beachfront ceremony - inquire with owner - wedding packages only available in Spring and Fall/early Winter.Animals are limited to no more than 2 dogs, and we kindly ask that you confirm the breed of your dog(s) when booking. No other family pets are allowed. A one-time fee of $125.00 per pet, per stay, will be added to your booking, regardless of the length of your stay.*If any dog exhibits aggressive or threatening behavior to neighbors guests may be asked to leave the property without a refund. Dogs must be controlled on a leash at all times unless they are inside the home.Linens and towels are supplied with this rental. This does not include beach towels so please plan accordinglyThis Cottage (Unit A) provides accommodations for 4 adults and includes on-site parking for 2 car. Please park cars as close to your corresponding unit as possible and be mindful to leave an adequate parking spaces for 1 car next door (Unit B). Note, most of the time travelers are bringing only one car so parking is not relevant but we need to be mindful in certain circumstances when there's more than 2 cars on the property. Driveway is designed to accommodate 3 total cars so there's ample space on most occasions. Note, Unit B next door is only supplied 1 parking space since it accommodates 2 adults (smaller unit). Routine maintenance may be required during your stay. This includes lawn care and pest control. The companies will only access the exterior of the home unless you provide consent for the interior of the home to be treated as well.Park in front of your property and walk to the beach, no need for gold cart or bicycles

Summary:Bright, airy condo on third floor, one block from the beach. Appreciate two balconies: one facing east towards the ocean, the other facing west for striking sunsets. We’re at the North end of the island, right by the entrance to Freeman Park, where you can drive your 4-wheel drive car onto the beach. Both bedrooms have gorgeous vistas; the master looks over the ocean, the guest looks over the marsh. It’s a two min. walk to the beach but there’s a pool right downstairs if you’re feeling lazy :)The Space:Boho-beachy furnishings make this condo unique and comfortable. We have two longboard surfboards for guest use (at your own risk). The two balconies allow for a exhilarating cross breeze through the apartment when it’s cool enough to have the doors open. Listen to the ocean on the front balcony in the evening with a glass of wine, or savor a cup of coffee in the morning over-looking the marsh from the back balcony. Or stay cool in the cozy A/C, perhaps watching tv and all the streaming services available with our system and high-speed wifi. We have a full kitchen should you want to prepare, but there are amazing eateries close by within the downtown of Carolina Beach.Guest Access:THis is a 4th floor unit and there is no elevator. The pool is located besidethe condo. The HOA opens the pool mid April and closes typically the second week in September, depending on weatherThe Neighborhood:We are at the North end of the island, a half a block away from the entrance to Freeman Park. Freeman Park is a historic location where you can drive onto the beach with your 4-wheel drive car, and bring your dog (on-leash) all year round. The ocean is a block away, and beach access is very simple to get to, with one of many entrances located right beside the High Tide Parlor. We’re a mile from downtown Carolina Beach where you will find a ton of eateries, bars, and stores.Getting Around:There are two parking spaces for our guests. If you have a four-wheel drive car, you can drive onto the beach at Freeman Park. If you prefer to bicycle or use a golf cart while you’re here, there are many places to rent bicycles in town. Please let your team at Going Coastal know if you need recommendations.Other Things to Note:Please note there are three flights of stairs to enter the condo.We are also pet friendly with an additional $50 fee. Please let us know before arrivingWe also supply the following for each property:A starter kit of one roll of toilet paper per bathroom, one roll of paper towels, a trash bag, and dish soap. We also supply laundered bed linens, comforters, and 1 bathing towel and wash cloth per person. We do not supply any beach gear or beach towel. We have great rental companies on the island we would be more than happy to share the info with you. We also do not supply laundry detergent, body soap or shampoo/conditioner as we find everybody has their own preferences for these =) Please review our home rules prior to your stayThere is a Beach re-nourishment done in Carolina and Kure beach every 3 years. This helps to keep our beaches safe from erosion. Please note that we have no control over this project and that it is normally concluded by May, but there is a possibility of delays.Interaction with Guests:We are always available for questions or concerns via Airbnb messenger. We’d adore for your happy beach memories to be made here at our bungalow by the sea, The Whimsy Whale. Our island bungalow is ideally placed under a canopy of lavish live oaks, just steps away from the ocean. Located on a peaceful beach access street, central to all the best attractions, shopping and eateries on Oak Island; close to close by Southport. Public sidewalks along E Oak Island Drive make it painless to walk or bicycle to your favorite spots. Our classic bungalow has been freshly refreshed and cheerfully decorated. With 1212 square feet and an open floor plan, there is plenty of space for you to comfortably relax. There are two living/entertaining areas in the home, both centrally connected through the galley kitchen. Two bedrooms provide enough sleeping arrangements for 4 guests. The master bedroom offers a queen bed, T.V. and private en-suite bathroom. The second bedroom offers two twin beds (one is a trundle with an additional memory foam topper). Two full bathrooms with walk-in showers. Linens are supplied (sheets, towels/washcloths) along with shampoo and soap. A full-size washer and dryer is available just off the master bedroom.If you decide to prepare in during your stay, the kitchen has all the essentials you’ll need - refrigerator, oven, microwave dishwasher, pots/pans, silverware, coffee pot, dishes. A roll of paper towels will be supplied, along with dish soap and detergent.Cable TV, wi-fi, bluetooth speaker along with some games, books and puzzles are available for your enjoyment.The roomy entirely-fenced backyard with hammock and outdoor seating offers the ideal place to relax while kids and family pets safely play. A deck off the side of the bungalow faces the ocean - an ideal spot to savor your morning coffee, appreciate dinner off the grille, or watch the sun set while listening to the calming sounds of the close by ocean. In fact, you have 3 decks to choose from in this 2nd floor unit if you need a breath of fresh air.
