Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:
Money saving strategies:
- The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked very early. Booking your rental home up to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- Summer time is high season in Carolina Beach. To get the best value, change your family's Brunswick area vacation week to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
- Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
- Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to add trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guides have deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.
Filter your rental search:
- Begin by choosing your a vacation week and a max budget.
- Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. 0612 Sandy Feet Retreat by Atlantic Towers has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area rental home search.
- Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before reserving the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what is best for your trip.
- Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pets before booking.
- Is your family looking for special amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find your ideal rental.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More considerations:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental. Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are out, just like you would back home.
- Note any issues with the property at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your peace and quiet. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
- Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
- Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Inspect the rental a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition.
- Leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.
