How to get the best Wilmington rental home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a rental home:

  • Summertime is high season in the Brunswick area area. Reserve your Brunswick area rental property in the Fall or Spring to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special rate.
  • Booking websites typically offer their guests an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area area magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have offers and deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Make a plan and choose the perfectvacation home:

  • Select vacation week and max budget.
  • Note the number beds and the bed configuration your family requires. Memories on Grace, near downtown Wilmington and area beaches has 2 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, contact the host before you reserve the property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a certain Brunswick area attraction you long to visit, search for homes that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask the owner about pet restrictions before booking.

More considerations:

  • Take a copy of the property manager's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your .
  • To ensure that damages aren't linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager right away to report any issues. If there is a dispute, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief call can prevent lots of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers disrupting your home life. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Double-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a wonderful time? Many rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear about it. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
