Brunswick area vacation rental home tips:
Cost saving strategies:
- Booking in the Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable properties. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
- Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups book their Summer rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Some property managers offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your group before you book.
- Booking websites frequently offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
- Often, management companies supply Brunswick area area visitor guide magazines which include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship with the management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area area magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.
Selecting the best rental home:
- First, have your group choose date ranges and a budget.
- Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. TWO SALTY DOGS - Oak Island, NC has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your vacation.
- Are you looking for particular amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental home.
- Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property management company about pet restrictions before booking.
More tips for your visit:
- Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your phone.
- During check-in, record any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
- Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
- Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant visitors disrupting your quiet neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
- Lock your rental while you are away. Keep your property safe!
- Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all of your things. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
- Walk through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
- Did your family have a fantastic vacation? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
