Tricks and tips for getting the perfect Carolina Beach rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • Summertime is the most expensive season in Carolina Beach. To get the best rental within budget, we suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Brunswick area restaurants and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Brunswick area area visitors guides that include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

How to pick the perfect rental:

  • Choose a designated group leader, select your vacation dates, and select a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration you need. Two Minutes to the Ocean sleeps 4 has 2 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what configuration is right for your group.
  • If there's a certain Brunswick area destination you love, search for homes that are either close by, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the owner about pets before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To make certain that damages are not attributed to your visit, record any problem areas when you arrive. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Be respectful. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking policies is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Re-check every room of the vacation property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.
