Wilmington rental property booking tips:

Sticking to a rental home budget:

  • The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Reserving your vacation rental up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Brunswick area vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent weather, less crowded beaches, and greatly reduced traffic.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer their guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have discounts for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Selecting and booking the perfectrental home:

  • Start by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Updated Townhome in Quiet Community has 2 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If not, call the host before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a particular Brunswick area destination you long to visit, search for rentals that are either near by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

Tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Upon arrival, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a great resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can usually help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a excellent vacation? Most rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
