Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Brunswick area vacation home experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Reserve your rental in Fall or Spring months to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • The sooner your group can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your group.
  • Booking websites often offer their guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, travel guides contain offers and deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Finding the best rental home in Sunset Beach:

  • Begin by selecting your potential vacation weeks and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Sea Trail Resort--Beach 1 Mile, On Golf Course, Spacious 1100sf, Linens Provided has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If not, contact the property owner before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your group.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you will need a property that allows animals. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some hosts charge pet deposits and fees.

More considerations:

  • Put the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Document any damages to the rental during check in, and immediately contact the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible resource to find the best local restaurants, beaches, and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your rental home while you are out. Protect your property!
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed all of your belongings at departure. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the host isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was great, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
