Our top Vacation rental booking tips and tricks:

Get the most from your rental budget:

  • June, July, and August are high season in the Brunswick area area. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a great way to save money on your rental home. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes.
  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide magazine when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain offers and deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Planning and choosing your Brunswick area vacation home:

  • Start by selecting your a vacation week and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Adorable 1BR Condo Steps to Johnnie Mercer’s! has 3 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is usually accessible online. Otherwise, email or call the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking
  • If your group is bringing pets, you must book a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Often, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

More tips for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. E-mail the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peace and quiet. Apply the golden rule for common sense. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Keep your property safe!
  • Just before checking out, take a walk-through to make sure you didn't forget anything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, ensure that you take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
