About the Area

Located near the beach, this vacation home is in Wilmington Beach, a neighborhood in Carolina Beach. Fort Fisher State Historic Site and Old Brunswick County Jail Museum are local landmarks, and some of the area's attractions include Carolina Beach Boardwalk and Odysea Surf and Kiteboard School. North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher and Tregembo Animal Park are also worth visiting. Be sure to check out the area's animals with activities such as game walks and birdwatching.

Getting the most from your budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best rental for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Brunswick area area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host if your family qualifies for a special rate.
  • Property management companies typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.

  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Often, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep the property locked while you're away! Don't let crooks ruin your vacation.
  • Just prior to departing, take a walk-through to confirm you haven't forget anything. Re-check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to solve it.
