Tricks and tips to get the best vacation home experience:
Sticking to a spending budget:
- The earlier your group can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
- To find the best rental for your budget, we recommend booking in the Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at your favorite restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
- Property managers sometimes offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
- Property management companies typically offer customers an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.
Finding the best vacation home in the Brunswick area area:
- Choose your dates and budget.
- Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. \"One More Time\" - Luxury Oceanfront Home w\/ Private Pool, 6 Bedrooms \/ 5 Bathrooms has 6 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
- Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, email the host before booking your home. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to determine what configuration is best for your family.
- Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional fees or charges could be applied to your contract.
- Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
- Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
Some things to know before you go:
- Take a copy of the host's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental home.
- Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
- Ensure you protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are out, just like you would back home.
- Make a record of any damages to the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the property manager. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if damages are attributed to your stay.
- Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking policies is the right thing to do.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to find the fresh catch of the day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Upon check-out, take a walk-through to make sure you have not leave anything behind. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Walk through the property one final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos of the property to record its condition at check-out.
- After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on good reviews to inspire future reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your feedback and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.
