Getting the best Wilmington vacation rental experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer time is high season in the Brunswick area area. To get the best value, consider changing your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer warmer temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property managers frequently offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local articles, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local shops and restaurants.

How to pick the best rental home in the Brunswick area area:

  • To start, have your family decide on a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Historic home in downtown Wilmington, NC has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is normally available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the host before you book your home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull-out couches.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the owner about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's an individual Brunswick area attraction you long to visit, keep an eye out for homes that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

Some things to know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Save the directions to your phone, and take a printed copy.
  • Property managers are great sources of help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having the recorded problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often a terrific resource to find the best local scenic spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Re-check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your family have a fantastic stay? Most rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.
