Our top Brunswick area rental property booking tips:
Get the most from your budget:
- Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually become available a year in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
- Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. Book your vacation home in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season.
- Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your host or property manager if special discounts are available for your family.
- Property managers frequently offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for specifics.
- Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area visitors guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.
Use filters to narrow your search:
- First and foremost, have your group choose dates and a max budget.
- Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Great rates on Studio unit that sleeps 4. On golf course and minutes from beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
- Precise details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property manager before you book your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is suitable for your vacation family.
- If your family is bringing pets, search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
- Are you visiting for a specific event or attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
More tips for your visit:
- We recommend storing the host's contact information in your smartphone.
- Property managers are great sources of help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
- Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would back home.
- Upon arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
- Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
- Re-check the rental property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
- Did you have a wonderful vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
