Our top Wilmington rental booking tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rentals during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Wilmington. Booking a rental in Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost you 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby accommodations, restaurants and tours.

How to choose and book the rightrental home:

  • Start by choosing your vacation dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Luxury Condo on the River-Million Dollar View! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always accessible on booking websites. If they are not listed, call the property owner before you reserve the rental. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to work out what is right for your trip.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but others do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional fees may apply. Ask the host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Visiting for a single event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. .

More tips for your stay:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • During arrival, note any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to find the best bike paths, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check every room of the rental property to confirm that you've packed all personal items at check-out. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a excellent time? Most rental home management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
