How to get the best vacation home experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Reserve your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Winter holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To find the best vacation home for your budget, we highly recommend reserving in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at Brunswick area restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Brunswick area area visitors guides which include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and select a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Relaxing oceanfront duplex with rooftop sun deck! has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually available online. If you don't see them listed, call the host before you reserve your rental. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what configuration is suitable for your vacation.
  • Are you traveling with furry, four-legged family members? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges applied to your invoice.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Additional considerations:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are out! Don't let burglars spoil your vacation.
  • To make certain damages are not linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas when you arrive. Get in touch with the host immediately to record your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peace and quiet. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would have not otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
