Strategies for getting the best Sunset Beach rental home experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • Summertime is high season in Sunset Beach. Reserve your rental property in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Book your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally open a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies often offer renters an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally will cost between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area visitor guides that include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and choosing a perfectrental:

  • Select your vacation dates and budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Chic Custom Built Home Encapsulated By Gorgeous Water Views on Sunset Beach has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. Otherwise, email the property management company before reserving the property. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Visiting for a single event? Try a map search to browse nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or costs applied to your contract.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Be sure you get the host's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • During arrival, document any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let burglars spoil your holiday.
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Leave feedback! Property managers rely on great reviews to drive future bookings. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
