Our top Oak Island rental home booking tips:

How to get the best value:

  • In the Brunswick area area, The earlier you can reserve a home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your vacation property 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Oak Island. To find the best value, try changing your family's Brunswick area vacation week to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property management company or host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for details.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local stories, visitor guides have money saving offers on local tours, shops, and attractions.

Choosing the best rental home in the Brunswick area area:

  • First and foremost, have your family select trip dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration you need. One More Day Caswell: Oceanfront Home With Elevator has 5 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is commonly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property management company before you reserve the vacation property. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Make sure to ask for specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Is your group looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking

Considerations for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents quite a few difficulties.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the host. We especially recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if a dispute arises.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like unpleasant vacationers disrupting your home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great feedback to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
