Rental home booking tips and tricks:

Sticking to a spending budget:

  • In the Brunswick area area, The sooner you can reserve a home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental home six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in Sunset Beach. Reserve your Brunswick area vacation in the Spring or Fall to enjoy warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Hosts sometimes offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which will generally cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area area magazine upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have coupons for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

How to select the best rental home:

  • Choose vacation dates and spending budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family requires. Boho Studio in Sea Trail, Sunset Beach has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly available on booking websites. If not, contact the property owner before you book the vacation property. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly property. Request information on breed, size, and type requirements. Often, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you visiting for a specific event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. .

During your stay:

  • Get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent a lot of concerns.
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • During check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Be respectful. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all belongings at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, remember to take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a great vacation? Many rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
