How to get the best Brunswick area rental home experience:

Finding the best value:

  • Summertime is high season in Oak Island. To get the best value, consider shifting your family's Brunswick area trip dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm temperatures, fewer crowds, and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Book your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your family.
  • Booking websites typically offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for additional information.
  • Many rental management companies supply Brunswick area area visitors guides which include special offers, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a partnership between the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking the perfect Brunswick area rental home:

  • First, have your group commit to date ranges and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. The Sand Castle on Oak Island has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area rental home search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is often accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, email or call the property manager before booking your home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • If there's a specific Brunswick area destination you are crazy about, browse homes that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. .
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges may be applied to your invoice.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Print and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • During check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, stereo or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent quite a few concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Just prior to departing, complete a walk-through to confirm you haven't leave anything behind. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Most rental managers make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your property and/or host was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
