The final sleeping space is located on the upper level, which is reached via the external enclosed entry staircase. Here, you’ll find a second seating area with a loveseat and recliner along with the second flat screen TV. Please note that no cable or streaming services are included directly on this TV - guests must bring their personal streaming devices and appropriate hookups in order to utilize this TV. To the other side of this bigger open space are two double-over-double bunk beds. A half bathroom is also located on this level, and a final interior staircase leads to the highest deck on the property, where you can soak in the sunshine as you sip your favorite morning coffee. Our top Oak Island rental home booking tips:

Get the most from your budget:

  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Christmas and Thanksgiving get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summer is the most expensive season in the Brunswick area area. Reserving a rental home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

How to pick the perfect rental home in Oak Island:

  • Select a group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Sandy Palms: Cozy Cottage Close to Beach Access has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to determine which bed configuration is optimal for your family.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or costs applied to your contract.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.

During your stay:

  • Get the owner's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home. Put the host's information in your smartphone.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your holiday.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your visit, record any problem areas upon your arrival. Speak to the rental manager right away to report any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like obnoxious vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • At departure, take a final walk-through to make sure you haven't leave anything behind. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property managers rely on good ratings to inspire more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other families will will be grateful for your review find their best rental home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
