This vacation home is located on the east side of Oak Island in a peaceful neighborhood just off the main street, Oak Island Drive. Virtually every restaurant, specialty shop, store and entertainment venue are located along this road. The beach is only 1/4 mile away!

This vacation rental welcomes up to three dogs per reservation year-round.

A splash park, skate park, putt-putt golf, kayak and canoe launch, fishing pier, soccer field, basketball, kickball and tennis courts are some, but not all, of the activities to be found within an eight-mile radius of this property. Special events during the summer include open air movies and concerts and a Farmers’/Artisans’ Market every Saturday. Across the Barbee Bridge, roughly 7.5 miles away, is the tourist-friendly old fishing village of Southport with antique stores, a movie theater and more eateries.

The kitchen is entirely supplied and wittily decorated, as is the entire home, with beach themes. Sleeping accommodations are available in two queen beds, two single beds and two sets of single bunk beds on the first floor. Two and one-half bathrooms serve the first floor, adjacent to one of which is the laundry room. The second floor has only the king bedroom and a private bathroom. The living room has valances, an additional-sizable TV. There is DVD players in the home and wireless internet access. The family dog is welcome here.

A significant additional feature in this home is the Florida-style game room on the first level with enormous screen TV, DVD’s, books and games, foosball and a pool table. The home also provides the option of a golf cart rental for an additional $500 per stay to help you get to the beach with ease. The golf cart also includes a town parking permit for your convenience, accepting this car to park complimentary of charge in Town of Oak Island Public parking spaces.

From the front, this home presents the façade of a home where the front is the best of the outdoor amenities with white rocking chairs looking out at mature-growth trees, a well-maintained yard and garage, but it is not for parking. But…the back of the home is a whole additional bonanza!

The backyard has a brick patio surrounding a regulation-style pool that is open year-round but is not heated, and a whirlpool spa hot tub. The pool is surrounded by chairs and a hammock. Also, in this fun area is a huge fire pit with conversational grouping of chairs, charcoal park grille and a enchanting tiki bar, compete with jaunty décor and wet bar.

Whether appreciating the many amusements in Oak Island and Southport or staying at home to take advantage of all the pleasures of your vacation home, this is a premier spot for an active group.

Tricks and tips for getting the best Brunswick area vacation property experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • The earlier you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are reserved early. Reserving your vacation home up to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and even October offer warm weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies supply Brunswick area area visitor guide magazines which will include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a partnership between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Filter your rental search:

  • First, have your family select vacation dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Barbee Beach House: A Peaceful Vacation Home for a Large, Active Group has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed types is almost always accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before you reserve the home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to work out what is suitable for your group.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some do not. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.
  • If there's a certain Brunswick area destination you are enamored with, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are available before booking

More tips for your stay:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or washer/dryer. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents quite a few issues.
  • Lock your vacation home while you are out. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To ensure that no damages are linked to your stay, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. Call the rental manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Be respectful of your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can usually point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Just before checking out, complete a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget any personal items. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Property owners rely on good ratings to stimulate future bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
