Our top Brunswick area rental home tips and tricks:

When to book a Brunswick area rental home & When to go:

  • The sooner you can book a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your vacation home.
  • Summer months are high season in Sunset Beach. To book the most suitable rental home within budget, we recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of large crowds at Brunswick area restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property management companies frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Many management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area travel guides which often include coupons, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Use filters to narrow your search:

  • Start by having your family decide on trip dates and a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your family requires. Sea Trail Resort--Beach 1 Mile, On Golf Course, Ground Level, Linens Provided has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is usually available on booking pages. If not, reach out to the property owner before booking the vacation home. Remember that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and others don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • If there's a particular Brunswick area beach you long to visit, keep an eye out for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental

More considerations for your visit:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Make a record of any damages to the property at check in, and immediately contact the host. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be beneficial if a dispute is filed.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You'll enhance your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a great source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Just before checking out, complete a walk-through to confirm you did not forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Many rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
