Renovated home on canal close to public beach access.

Thank you for visiting “Holden It Down” a 4 bedroom 2 bath beach home located on deep canal.

This is a freshly modernized 4 bedroom 2 bathroom home on the canal with just a short walk to the beach. The beach access is just at the end of the road and if you bring your boat you can dock it at ease any time at our private dock. This home provides covered porches and a huge covered entertaining area underneath the home. It has a nice enormous fenced in back yard for calming or playing games with the family.

We do not allow inflatable pools and/or kiddy pools. We have allowed this in the past however we are left with dead grass and high water bills.

Our top Brunswick area rental booking tips:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • In the Brunswick area area, The earlier your group can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Booking your vacation home 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation home.
  • June, July, and August are high season in the Brunswick area area. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we strongly suggest booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Brunswick area attractions and restaurants. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Some owners offer promotional rates for veterans and active duty military. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed days as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides have coupons for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Choosing and booking yourrental home:

  • First, have your family decide on the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Renovated Canal Home WiFi Private Dock Close to Beach has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is often available online. If not, reach out to the property owner before you book the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others do not. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask the property manager about pet restrictions before booking.
  • Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many concerns.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Frequently, adjacent homes are filled by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to spend a rainy day, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at check-out. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a terrific time? Many rental management companies make it easy for guests to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
