Tips for getting the perfect Brunswick area vacation property experience:

Cost saving strategies:

  • Summer months are the most expensive season in Ocean Isle Beach. Booking your Brunswick area vacation home in Spring or Fall is one of our best tips for saving money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many groups book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which usually costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related issues or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for details.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines contain offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Make a plan and pick yourrental:

  • To start, have your family commit to trip dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. NEW LISTING! CottageVacations4u \"Reel Whale Kept\" JUST UPDATED TOP TO BOTTOM MARCH '24 has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly available on booking pages. If they are not listed, call the property manager before reserving your home. Note that most properties list maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? Try a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or may be applied to your contract.

More tips for your visit:

  • Add the property manager's contact info to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that are valuable if damages are attributed to your stay.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a great source for finding the best local beaches.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often help. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photos of the rental to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave a review! Hosts rely on great ratings to compel new bookings. They'll be grateful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't as described, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best rental home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to solve it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
