How to get the best vacation property experience:

When to visit & When to book:

  • The earlier you can book a vacation home, the easier your search will be. The best vacation homes are booked early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and book your rental property.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season in coastal NC. To find the best value, change your vacation to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and even October offer great weather, , and reduced traffic.
  • Hosts sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners usually offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide magazine upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great local articles, visitors guides have money saving offers on nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Planning and picking yourrental:

  • Start by choosing potential vacation weeks and a spending budget.
  • Determine how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. NEW LISTING! 0308 Serenity By The Sea has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area rentals search.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible online. If you don't see them listed, reach out to the property management company before reserving the home. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to establish what configuration is best for your group.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or charges might be applied to your agreement.
  • Does your family require specific amenities? Most rental websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

During your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's contact number and entry/exit procedures for your rental.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would at home.
  • Document any damages to the property at check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are useful if damages are assessed.
  • Be respectful. Often, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Double-check every room of the property to confirm that you've packed everything on check-out day. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Hosts rely on excellent reviews to stimulate more bookings. They'll be much obliged for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationers will will be grateful for your feedback find their best vacation home. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
