Our top Oak Island rental booking tips:

Find your perfect rental home:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Oak Island. To find the best value, try shifting your family's Brunswick area trip dates to the Spring or Fall shoulder seasons. May, September, and October offer warmer weather, , and greatly reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer months.
  • In the Brunswick area area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation home, the better your selection will be. The most desirable rental properties are booked early. Reserving your vacation rental 6-12 months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property managers frequently offer customers an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Often, management companies supply Brunswick area area travel guides which will include special offers, either offered directly by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Planning and picking the best Brunswick area rental:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Lovely 4 Bedroom Ocean view house in West Beach has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, reach out to the property management company before reserving your rental. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes sofa beds. You will need to work out which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • If there's a certain Brunswick area beach you simply love, search for properties that are either near by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some do not. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property manager about pets before booking.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental home. Store the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Upon check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors disrupting your peace. Apply the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have not otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can usually help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to charter a fishing boat, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected all personal belongings. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photographs of the property to record its condition.
  • Leave a review! Hosts rely on excellent ratings to inspire future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other families will be thankful you shared your feedback find their best vacation rental. Please be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.
