Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your vacation rental budget:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To find the largest vacation home for your budget, we strongly suggest booking in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at the beach and popular attractions. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your vacationing group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Booking websites often offer renters an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, travel guide magazines have deals for nearby accommodations, tours and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • First, have your group commit to vacation dates and a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the configuration your family needs. Guill-Holton – Relax and unwind at this bright and airy oceanfront townhouse has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is often accessible on booking pages. Otherwise, call the property owner before you reserve your rental. Note that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to work out what is suitable for your vacation group.
  • If your group is bringing pets, you'll need to find a pet-friendly property. Get specifics on breed, weight, and type requirements. Note that some hosts require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Are you looking for special amenities? Most rental search websites include amenity lists and search filters. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

During your stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Add a note with the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed backup.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, stereo or WIFI setup. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Lock your rental property while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • To ensure that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, inspect for any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the rental manager immediately to report any issues. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, adjacent homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the property to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on good feedback to drive more reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your review find their best vacation home. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
