Tricks and tips to get the best rental home experience:

How to get the best rental value:

  • Booking your vacation rental in Fall or Spring is an excellent way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some property management companies offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your group.
  • Property managers typically offer guests an option to buy trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area area magazine upon arrival. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to choose and book your prefect Brunswick area rental home:

  • First and foremost, have your family commit to dates and a budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your group needs. Fully renovated 1 bedroom condo - across the street from beach access has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our vacation rental search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts & types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before booking.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Additional considerations:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your phone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas during arrival. Speak to the property manager immediately to report your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Property managers are there to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers bothering your peace. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great beaches and scenic spots you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the rental when you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Just prior to departing, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for any damage. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the host is not available, take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for customers to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to correct it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
