Tips and Tricks for getting the best Holden Beach rental home experience:

When to go & When to reserve a Brunswick area rental home:

  • Summertime is high season in Holden Beach. Reserve your Brunswick area rental in Fall or Spring months to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules generally become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host whether your family qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area visitors guide magazines which often include special deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Selecting and booking the right Brunswick area vacation home:

  • First and foremost, have your family choose date ranges and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Fishing\/ Beach Getaway has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rental home search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking websites. Otherwise, call the property manager before you reserve your rental. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or charges may be applied to your contract.

Additional considerations:

  • Take a copy of the owner's contact number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • At Check-in, document any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a hot tub, television set or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents many difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to order the best nachos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking and securing the home when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed everything at check-out. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental a final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, ensure that you take video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did you have a terrific vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for customers to provide comments. If your property and/or property management company was fantastic, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
