Tips and Tricks to get the best rental experience:

Getting the most from your spending budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To book the best rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, greater selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at restaurants, beaches, and activities.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules generally become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during Winter holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Property management companies typically offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitor guides contain deals for nearby restaurants, attractions, and tours.

How to pick the perfect vacation home:

  • Select a group lead, select your trip dates, and select a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your family requires. Buckeye Beach House 2 blocks from the beach has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area vacation rental search.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving the vacation property. Note that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • Does your group require particular amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, you'll need to search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request information on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Usually, property managers charge pet deposits and fees.

Know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and save the instructions to your smartphone.
  • At Check-in, record any damages to the property and immediately alert the owner. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like loud vacationers bothering your peaceful home life. Use the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and places you would've never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental home while you are away. Protect your property!
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to make sure you've collected everything. Make sure to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager is not available, remember to take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
