About this Property

  • Private vacation home

Spend your next beach vacation rocking on the cavernous wraparound porch at “Cardwell”. This seemingly ocean front home sports great ocean vistas and was designed by an architect associate of Frank Lloyd Wright. Although this home is technically one home back from the beach front, the unique staggered tons on the north end of the island ensure picture ideal vistas and a feeling of privacy. The private road with no public parking will make you feel as though you have the beach to yourself. Don’t miss your chance to vacation in this one-of-a-kind bungalow!

The main living level of “Cardwell” has a huge living-dining area with cathedral ceilings. A series of sliding glass doors wrap the home to allow natural light to flood the living space and showcase the gorgeous vistas beyond. The kitchen and bathrooms have been lightly refreshed to make a comfortable space to prepare home cooked meals for the family. A enormous dining table provides ample seating and opens to the main living space that is furnished with plenty of seating options. Just off the kitchen is a modest multi-purpose room that includes a bunk bed (twin over twin), half bathroom, and laundry facilities.

Down the hall on the main living level is a full bathroom that serves the close by guest room that is furnished with two beds, a twin, and a queen. This guest room has a sizable sliding glass door that leads to the ocean side deck and offers a nice view of the ocean. The primary suite is located at the end of the hall and features a lush kind sized bed, walk in closet, dual vanity, walk in shower, and gives direct access to the wraparound porch. Wake up each morning to the waves crashing and palms blowing in the soft breeze.

A spiral staircase located in the living room gives this home unique character and leads to the top floor where there are three additional bedrooms. At the top of the stairs, you will find a full bathroom complete with a walk-in shower. This bathroom serves the upstairs bedrooms. To your left is a guest room with a queen-size bed and constructed-in seating. This bedroom overlooks the main living area below and features some very eye-catching angles designed by the architect. To the right of the stairs there is a second guest bedroom with a queen bed that is framed by a series of windows that make the room feel bright and airy. This guest room also overlooks the living area below and directly leads to the third bedroom which provides a full bed. Given that the full bedroom directly connects to the queen guest room this sleeping arrangement is ideal for families with modest kids.

If you are looking for a vacation home with ample outdoor space, great vistas, worry complimentary parking, a stellar location, tons of appeal, and all the amenities of home then look no further. This home has a lot to offer and is sure to provide a space for a memorable family vacation!

Finding the best vacation home experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • Book your Brunswick area rental in the Spring or Fall to get the benefit of gorgeous weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Brunswick area area, The earlier your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation property six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your family qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Property managers usually offer customers an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed vacation time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area visitors guide magazine upon checking in. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have coupons for local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Make a plan and choose the perfectrental:

  • Start by having your group select a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the configuration your group needs. Spacious home w ocean views from wraparound porch has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed types is normally accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the property management company before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Are you visiting for a specific attraction? Try a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before booking
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Remember to ask your host before booking, and study your agreement! Extra fees or charges applied to your contract.

Tips for your stay:

  • Add the owner's phone number to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • Note any issues with the rental upon arrival, and immediately e-mail them to the host. We specifically recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be very helpful if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, elevator or coffee maker. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call can prevent many issues.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like troublesome visitors bothering your peaceful neighborhood. Employ the golden rule for common sense. If they like you, locals might even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can frequently help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out and about. Protect the owner's property and your things!
  • At departure, complete a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget anything. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host isn't available, remember to take video and pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property managers rely on excellent feedback to propel new reservations. They'll be grateful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went wrong, other vacationers will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Be fair with your review. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to remedy it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
