MAJOR REMODEL 2021. New floors, new kitchen, new baths. If you’re looking for a calming vacation hideaway in a put-your-feet-up-on-the-coffee-table kind of a place, then this is it! Family constructed and owned for over 45 years, these walls have seen a lot of “happy” over the years. With 4 generously appointed bedrooms and 3 baths, there is room for your family to spread out. The huge eat-in kitchen, with a farmhouse table for eating or playing games, and pots and pans needed to put together those vacation favorites. The dock on the canal behind the home provides yet another spot for hanging out and grabbing a few rays -- in case you don’t feel like walking out to the elegant, flat Sunset Beach which awaits you and the gang just at the head of the street. A downstairs apartment will please those seeking a little separation from the group (or ones not in favor of stairs!). Appreciate two decks one upstairs and a covered deck downstairs. The same folks who have been coming back year after year will attest: This is one home-away-from-home destination you don’t want to miss.

Rental home tips and tricks:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • In the Brunswick area area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your vacation property six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to search for and book your rental home.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Brunswick area area. To find the best value, try changing your group's vacation to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and October offer warm weather, , and reduced traffic. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Property management companies sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. It's always a good idea to check with your host or property manager to see if special discounts are available for your group.
  • Booking websites frequently offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Often, management companies supply Brunswick area area travel guides which include coupons, either offered independently by local companies, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Narrow your Search:

  • First and foremost, have your family decide on a vacation week and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. Canal Home with private dock, kayaks and bikes included has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is generally accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before reserving the rental. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a property that allows animals. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type requirements. Usually, property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. .

Tips for a smooth stay:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Take a printed copy, and save the directions to your smartphone.
  • Hosts are there to help! Don't be shy to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Lock your rental while you are out. Keep your property safe!
  • During arrival, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • On check-out day, take a final walk-through to confirm you have not forget anything. Remember to check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did you have a great vacation? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear about it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
