MAJOR REMODEL 2021. New floors, new kitchen, new baths. If you’re looking for a calming vacation hideaway in a put-your-feet-up-on-the-coffee-table kind of a place, then this is it! Family constructed and owned for over 45 years, these walls have seen a lot of “happy” over the years. With 4 gorgeously appointed bedrooms and 3 baths, there is room for your family to spread out. The huge eat-in kitchen, with a farmhouse table for eating or playing games, and pots and pans needed to put together those vacation favorites. The dock on the canal behind the home provides yet another spot for hanging out and grabbing a few rays -- in case you don’t feel like walking out to the pretty, flat Sunset Beach which awaits you and the gang just at the head of the street. A downstairs apartment will please those seeking a little separation from the group (or ones not in favor of stairs!). Appreciate two decks one upstairs and a covered deck downstairs. The same folks who have been coming back year after year will attest: This is one home-away-from-home destination you don’t want to miss.

Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental home experience:

Sticking to your rental home budget:

  • Summer time is high season in Sunset Beach. Booking your vacation home in the Fall or Spring is our best tip for saving money on your vacation rental. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of desirable properties.
  • Book your vacation home as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer vacations during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some hosts offer discounts or promotional rates for veterans. Ask your host or property manager if rate reductions are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for specifics.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area visitor guides that include special deals, either offered independently by local businesses, or through a relationship between the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose the perfect vacation rental in Sunset Beach:

  • Begin by choosing a vacation week and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration you need. Canal Home with private dock, kayaks and bikes included has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is usually accessible online. If they are not listed, email the host before booking your rental. Remember that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You'll need to determine what is optimal for your family.
  • If there's a certain Brunswick area destination you simply love, keep an eye out for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all required amenities are available before reserving a rental
  • If your group is traveling with pets, you'll need to book a pet-friendly property. Get details on breed, size, and type requirements. Be aware that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.

Advice for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the owner's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental. Put the host's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • To ensure that damages are not attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. text the property manager immediately to report any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be very helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents lots of difficulties.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often a fantastic resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can typically help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Protect the property owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, walk through the rental to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property a final time and look for any damage. We suggest walking through with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a wonderful stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was defective and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
