Booking the best Brunswick area vacation home experience:

How to get the best value:

  • Reserve your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many groups reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve gatherings. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Reserve your Brunswick area vacation home in Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowds. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at your favorite beach.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. It's always a good idea to check with your property manager to see if special discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have deals for local accommodations, tours and attractions.

Choosing the perfect vacation rental in Wilmington:

  • Start by choosing your the best vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group needs. Stairway to Historic Charm! has 4 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available on booking websites. If not, contact the property management company before booking your home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Ask your host before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or may be applied to your agreement.
  • If there's a specific Brunswick area beach you long to visit, search for properties that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your desires.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before booking.

Tips for your stay:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, elevator or thermostat. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message prevents a lot of concerns.
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by keeping the rental locked up while you are gone, just like you would back home.
  • To make certain no damages are linked to your family's visit, make a record of any problem areas upon your arrival. text the host right away to record any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded concerns and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable visitors bothering your quiet neighborhood. Use the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great beaches and attractions you would've never otherwise known!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Local residents can frequently help. Who better to ask where to rent beach equipment, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager is not available, remember to take pictures of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on good reviews to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your review. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will be thankful you shared your experience find their best vacation home. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the manager could control the issue, and if so, whether they responded expeditiously to remedy it.
