Strategies to get the best vacation rental experience:

When to visit Holden Beach & When to book:

  • To find the best rental home for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, better selection, warm weather and the absence of giant crowds at Brunswick area restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Brunswick area area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are reserved very early. Reserving your rental 6-12 months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Hosts and Property managers sometimes offer special rates for veterans and active duty military. Ask your property manager if discounts are available for your group.
  • Property management companies usually offer renters an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a bank account-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for more information.
  • Look for your local visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitor guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby tours and attractions.

Filter your search:

  • First and foremost, have your group decide on dates and a max budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Brand new home 'Totally Decked Out' - Dog-Friendly, 4 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, and stunning views. has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is almost always available online. Otherwise, call the property management company before reserving the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches.
  • If there's a particular Brunswick area attraction you long to visit, look for rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater especially to your requirements.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Add the property manager's information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • During arrival, document any damages to the property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Hosts are great sources of help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are usually a terrific resource to find the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to enjoy a steak with a view, have a great night out, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, take a walk through the rental to reconfirm you've collected everything. Remember to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, remember to take video and pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great time? Most rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property manager was wonderful, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was imperfect and they failed to correct it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
