Brunswick area vacation rental tips and tricks:

Money saving strategies:

  • Book your rental as early as possible. Rental schedules usually open 12 months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many groups book their Summer vacations during holiday gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To get the best value, change your group's trip dates to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer warmer temperatures, less crowded beaches, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager if your family qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost you 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitors guide magazines have deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Narrow your rental Search:

  • Select a group lead, choose your vacation week, and choose a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your family requires. Boat life at the beach, 36ft sailboat at Carolina Beach has 2 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Specific information about bedrooms and bed counts & types is regularly accessible online. If you don't see them listed, email the property management company before you book the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull out couches in living rooms. You will need to establish what bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • If your family is bringing pets, you will need a pet-friendly vacation rental. Request details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Often, hosts charge pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your family require particular amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Remember to confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental

Know before you go:

  • Store the owner's contact information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask questions during your stay.
  • Protect the owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • At Check-in, note any damages to the rental property and immediately contact the owner. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Local residents can often point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental one final time and keep an eye out for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the host isn't available, take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did you have a fantastic stay? Most vacation rental websites make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
