Strategies for getting the perfect Wilmington vacation rental experience:

Find your perfect rental:

  • In the Brunswick area area, The sooner you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The most desirable vacation homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental home six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your rental.
  • Summertime is high season in Wilmington. To get the largest rental home within your budget, we highly recommend reserving in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rental rates, greater selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of giant crowds at your favorite Brunswick area restaurants and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday on the coast? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Some property managers offer promotional rates for active duty military and veterans. Check with your host or property manager to see if discounts are available for your family.
  • Booking websites usually offer guests an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area area magazine when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental property doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines contain discounts for local tours, shops, and attractions.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose a group leader, select your vacation dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. 9th Floor Riverwalk Retreat.....With Even Better Views!! has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is commonly accessible online. If not, call the property manager before you reserve the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which typically includes pull-out couches. You'll need to establish what bed configuration is best for your trip.
  • If your group is vacationing with pets, search for a pet-friendly vacation rental. Make sure to ask for details on breed, weight, and type restrictions. Note that some property managers require additional pet deposits and fees.
  • Does your group require special amenities? Most rental websites include amenity lists and search filters. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the perfect rental.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair accessibility, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Know before you go:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, television set or appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of problems.
  • Lock your rental while you are out and about. Protect the owner's property and your stuff!
  • To make sure damages aren't linked to your stay, record any problem areas when you arrive. message the host immediately to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules is the right thing to do.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can frequently help. Who better to ask where to get the best seafood, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before departing, take a walk through the rental to confirm you've collected everything. Re-check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Inspect the property one final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to correct it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
