Caprice Bistro

Caprice Bistro is Wilmington’s go-to for incredible martinis and French cuisine in the heart of the Downtown area. Found within a classic brick building, and boasting two levels of dining, (including an upstairs bar that’s popular with the post-theater crowd), Caprice is the destination of choice for romantic evenings out, or just a little something different and refreshingly elevated.

The menu features a host of options, including more than a dozen appetizers and salads, freshly prepared crepes, “Moules” or mussel dishes, entrees, and small plates. Patrons with a lighter appetite or who like to share can dive into the French cuisine with smaller options like the rich cheese board, the pork cheeks, or the regionally famous sausage of the day, which always comprises of a new and unique protein. Meanwhile, hungrier patrons can sample a range of decadent French standards, like the Coq au vin, the Duck Confit, or the locally-inspired grouper with potato brandade and a Provencal vinaigrette. All of these options can pair nicely with a French wine, or one of Caprice Bistro’s famed martinis, which come in countless and tasty varieties, from fresh citrus to lavish chocolate.

Offering a dining experience that’s unique in this corner of Downtown Wilmington, Caprice Bistro will appease any appetite for elevated French cuisine.

Airlie Gardens

Arlie Gardens is home to a stunning collection of natural gardens and eye-catching artworks which continually impresses visitors to the Wilmington area. Established in 1901, and originally used as a private garden for the wealthy Pembroke family, the garden has since been transformed into a public attraction that’s dotted with thousands of camellias, magnolias, wisteria, azaleas, and other southern blooms that thrive in the warm coastal climate. The azaleas are arguably the star of the show, as there are more than 100,000 red, white, and magenta hued-azaleas to admire.

You can also walk or bicycle to eateries and coffee stores. We try to keep our calendar refreshed, but Airbnb only lets us work with exactly 365 days at a time. So if you are booking far in advance, please keep in mind that for the middle of summer there may be a seven day limit and Saturday check in and check out will still apply — just send me a fast note and I’ll get back to you.The Neighborhood:The Carolina Beach fishing pier is just a few homes to the North. The pier is home to tiki bar, live music, and a modest restaurant. The access to Freeman Park is also just two blocks away! You can also rent bicycles or bring your own... or just walk down the beach!Other Things to Note:The home is oceanfront, with an unobstructed view north and south also. Do note that there are sizable boulders for purposes of keeping down erosion (as seen in the photos). The boulders are between the yard and the beach, so to access the wider sandy beach, guests will walk two tons to the south and use the public access.Family Animals are allowed on the property ONLY after agreement with host and pet fee is paid, otherwise any animals are a breech if guest contract and guests will be asked to leave as per Airbnb guidelines. There is a Beach re-nourishment done in Carolina and Kure beach every 3 years. This helps to keep our beaches safe from erosion. Please note that we have no control over this project and that it is normally concluded by May, but there is a possibility of delays.Interaction with Guests:Your host is available for questions via text, and most of the time is only 2 miles away, so I can comfortably come and help in the event of any confusion or problems. Please reach out with any concerns upon arrival. We want you to have a five star stay and can swing by to fix anything that might have been overlooked by the cleaning staff.
