Tricks and tips to get the very best rental home experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Brunswick area area. Reserve your rental home in Spring or Fall to get the benefit of warm weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during June, July, and August.
  • In the Brunswick area area, The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the better your selection will be. The best properties are booked early. Booking your vacation rental up to 12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental property.
  • Veterans and Active Duty Military members may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager or host whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
  • Property managers often offer their guests an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which usually will cost between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a bank account-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Find a copy of your local visitors guide when you arrive at the rental property. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, travel guide magazines contain offers and deals for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Choosing and booking your Brunswick area rental home:

  • Begin by selecting vacation dates and a budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your family requires. Oak Island 2nd Row Large Beach Home with Private Gated Pool! 5 Bedrooms, 3 decks has 5 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our rentals search.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is regularly accessible on booking websites. If not, reach out to the property manager before you book the property. Note that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Is your family looking for unique amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters for amenities. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Suitable accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to inquire about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.
  • Some properties allow pets, and others don't. Acceptable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable pet guidelines before booking.

Have a fantastic stay:

  • Take a copy of the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental. Put the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your family's stay, record any problem areas upon check in. Speak to the property manager immediately to document your findings. If there is a dispute about legal responsibility later, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Be a good neighbor. Often times, surrounding homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to find the best seashells, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Ensure you protect the owner (and your things!) by keeping the rental locked up when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to reconfirm you've collected all personal items. Make sure to check bathrooms, dressers, and closets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property one final time and scan for damage. We advise inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, remember to take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a excellent stay? Many rental home management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your property and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was inoperable and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
