Tricks and tips to get the perfect vacation property experience:

Getting the most from your budget:

  • Summertime is high season in the Brunswick area area. To get the best value, try changing your group's vacation week to the Spring or Fall months. May, September, and October offer excellent temperatures, , and reduced traffic.
  • The earlier you can reserve a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable rental homes are reserved very early. Booking your rental property six to twelve months before your travel dates is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and book your rental property.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective host whether your vacationing group qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies often offer their guests an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area visitors guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Filter your search:

  • First and foremost, have your family agree to a vacation week and a maximum budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the configuration you need. Wicked Salty: Private Swimming Pool, Ocean Views, Kayaks and More! has 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is almost always available on booking websites. If not, email the property owner before booking the rental. Remember that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is right for your group.
  • If there's an individual Brunswick area attraction you are crazy about, browse rentals that are either nearby, or those that cater to your desires.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Confirm all required amenities are included before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Record any damages to the rental at check in, and immediately e-mail them to the owner. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Property managers are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Respect the neighborhood. Often, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can typically help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Lock your rental while you're away. Keep your property safe!
  • When it's time to leave, take a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Check closets, dressers, garages, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We recommend walking through with the host whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the host is not available, ensure that you take photographs of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your group have a excellent stay? Many rental managers make it easy for vacationers to provide feedback. If your property and/or property manager was great, they always love to hear your praise. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
