Your family will be close to everything when you stay at this centrally-located place in the Heart of Historic Downtown Wilmington.
An open kitchen / living room for socializing with your entire group.
Lots and tons of beds. 2 Master Bedrooms with private baths.
The space
Our home was constructed in 1860 and we have just done a complete remodel converting it back in to a single family residence (it has been a law office for the last 40 years). The open kitchen and living room are unique to a home from this era. Plenty of room for a family gathering. 2 Master bedrooms. One on each floor. Each has its own private bathroom. A "Kid" bedroom has 2 bunk beds, one with a double bed and the other with a full size bed trundle. It also has a sleeper couch. A great home for a family reunion, bridal event, college reunion, or two couples with their kids. There is also futon (and an option for an air bed) in the downstairs front library if your group needs more space.
Original Heart Pine floors throughout.
Guest access
The whole, 2 story, 2400 square foot home is yours.

Getting the best Brunswick area vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your rental home budget:

  • Summer months are high season in the Brunswick area area. To find the best vacation home within budget, we suggest reserving in the Fall or Spring. You'll benefit from lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at popular Brunswick area attractions and restaurants.
  • Book your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually become available twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families book their Summer vacation rentals during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Some owners offer discounts for veterans and active duty military. Check with your host or property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer customers an option to add vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen happens. Ask the property owner for program terms and fees.
  • Many property management companies supply Brunswick area area travel guides which often include money-saving deals, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local gas stations and shopping centers.

Planning and choosing your Brunswick area rental home:

  • Select a designated group leader, select your trip dates, and select a spending budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. 1860 House In the Heart of Downtown has 3 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking websites. If they are not listed, reach out to the property manager before you reserve your home. Remember that most property listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds. You will need to work out what configuration is optimal for your vacation family.
  • Visiting for a single attraction or event? Use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Extra fees or applied to your invoice.

Know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before leaving home. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • Upon check-in, note any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the host. Record all correspondence in case a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief telephone call prevents a lot of issues.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. Be a good neighbor. You will increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an excellent source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Locals can typically help. Who better to ask where to order delicious takeout, have a great night out, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Lock your rental property while you're gone! Don't let thieves ruin your trip.
  • Double-check every room of the property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • After your trip, leave a review! Property owners rely on great ratings to compel future bookings. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will be thankful you shared your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the owner had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.
