Our top Brunswick area rental property booking tips:

Sticking to your budget:

  • Summer is the most expensive season in coastal NC. Reserving a rental home in Fall or Spring months is our favorite way to save money on your rental home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable homes. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to reserve an oceanfront vacation rental that would otherwise be unaffordable during the Summer.
  • The sooner your group can book, the easier your search will be. The best rental homes are reserved very early. Reserving your vacation home six - twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Some hosts and property managers offer discounts for active duty military and veterans. Check with your property manager to see if rate reductions are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies often offer guests an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel stay or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask the property owner for more information.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great information, visitor guides have discounts for local restaurants, attractions, and tours.

Use filters to narrow your rental search:

  • Select dates and maximum budget.
  • Note the number beds and the configuration your group requires. 031 Sunset Serenade by Sunset Vacations has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If they are not listed, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which often includes sofa beds.
  • Are you visiting for a single attraction or event? If so, use a map search to browse nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests with disabilities. Remember to confirm all required amenities are included before reserving a rental
  • Remember to include your furry companions! Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Allowable pet type, breed, and size are often limited. Remember to ask the property manager before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional fees or might be applied to your contract.

Some things to know before you go:

  • Add the host's contact information to your phone. Take a copy of arrival/departure procedures.
  • To make certain no damages are attributed to your family's stay, inspect the rental for any problem areas upon check in. Make contact with the rental manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having the recorded issues and contact attempts will be valuable.
  • Property managers are there to help! Don't be shy to ask any questions during your stay.
  • Don't forget to respect your neighbors. Often, nearby homes are occupied by permanent residents. Respecting late-night noise limits and parking rules reduces conflict and allows everyone to enjoy their day.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Local residents can typically point you in the right direction. Who better to ask where to go for the best drinks, have a great night out, or the best spots for fine dining?
  • Lock your rental while you are away. Protect your property!
  • On check-out day, complete a final walk-through to make sure you did not forget any personal items. Check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the property a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend inspecting the property with the host whenever possible. If the manager is not available, take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a terrific stay? Most rental management companies make it easy for customers to provide feedback. If your rental property and/or property management company was fantastic, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
