Brunswick area vacation rental home tips and tricks:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • Book your vacation rental as early as possible. Rental schedules often open a year in advance (or in September just after Summertime ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacations during holiday get-togethers. Book before these holidays for best selection.
  • Summertime is high season in Oak Island. Book your rental home in the Spring or Fall to enjoy beautiful weather while saving money and avoiding crowded roads, restaurants, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to reserve a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months.
  • Property managers sometimes offer promotional rates for veterans. Make sure to check with your host or property manager to see if special offers are available for your group before you book.
  • Property management companies usually offer guests an option to purchase trip insurance protection. Trip insurance, which commonly will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any days missed as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unexpected hotel stay or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for additional information.
  • Often, property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area visitor guide magazines which often include money-saving deals, either offered independently by local companies, or through a relationship with the property management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Make a plan and choose yourrental home:

  • Start by selecting trip dates and a budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Double T By The Sea: Vintage Beach Home with Awe-Inspiring Views Close to Public has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Specific details about bedrooms and bed types is normally available on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email or call the property manager before you reserve the vacation home. Remember that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the property management company about allowable pet guidelines before booking.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters with amenity lists.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for guests that require the use of a wheelchair. Confirm all required amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Be sure you get the property manager's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental home.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, A/V setup or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Lock your rental home while you're away. Protect your property!
  • To make certain that no damages are attributed to your family's visit, make note of any problem areas when you arrive. Contact the property manager immediately to relay any pre-existing damages. If there is a dispute, having a record of concerns and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Re-check the property to confirm that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Re-check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Record a video to document the condition of the property.
  • Did you have a terrific time? Most rental websites make it easy for vacationers to provide comments. If your rental and/or host was great, they would love to hear it. If anything was inoperable and they failed to address it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your comments.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
