Tricks and tips to get the optimal rental home experience:

When to book & When to go:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. To find the best value, try shifting your group's vacation dates to the Spring or Fall seasons. May, September, and even October offer pleasant weather, fewer crowds, and reduced traffic. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • In the Brunswick area area, The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Owners sometimes offer discounts for veterans. Make sure to check with your property manager to see if discounts are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites frequently offer renters an option to purchase vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area area magazine when you check-in. If your rental home doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, visitor guide magazines have money saving offers on local attractions, tours, restaurants, and shops.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose your vacation dates and budget.
  • Determine how many bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Hobbs Realty - Ultimate \"Peace and Quiet\" in this oceanfront home with a heatable swimming pool and hot tub. has 6 bedrooms and 6 bathrooms.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts is generally available on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, call the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which often includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Looking for unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Filtering by amenity will allow you to quickly find the best rental home.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Ask your property manager before booking, and study your rental agreement! Pet fees or costs may be applied to your invoice.

Considerations for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Add a note with the directions to your phone, and take a printed backup.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your stay, inspect the property for any problem areas upon your arrival. Make contact with the property manager right away to document any issues. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of issues and contact attempts will be helpful.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a hot tub, A/V setup or coffee maker. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief telephone call can prevent many difficulties.
  • Respect your neighbors. Often times, surrounding homes are occupied by local residents. Respecting noise limits and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Neighbors can often help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars ruin your vacation.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Before you drive away, take a walk through the rental property to reconfirm you've collected everything. Make sure to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the rental a final time and look for damage. We advise walking through with the host whenever you can. If the host is not available, take photos of the rental to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a fantastic time? Most rental management companies make it easy for clients to provide reviews. If your rental and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear it. If anything was out of order and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
