Strategies for getting the perfect Sunset Beach vacation rental experience:

Get the most from your budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in coastal NC. Booking your Brunswick area vacation home in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of suitable homes.
  • Reserve your vacation rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often become available a year in advance (or in September just after Summer ends). Many families book their Summer rentals during Thanksgiving and Christmas gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a special promotion or discount.
  • Booking websites often offer guests an option to buy vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the base booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed vacation time as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for specifics.
  • Find a copy of your local Brunswick area visitors guide when you check-in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores and visitor centers. In addition to great local information, visitors guide magazines have offers and deals for nearby shops and restaurants.

Make a plan and choose your prefectvacation home:

  • Select a designated group leader, choose your vacation dates, and choose a max budget.
  • Note the number bedrooms and the bed configuration your group requires. Third row 4 bedroom and 3 bath home has 4 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed counts & types is generally accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, email the host before you reserve the vacation property. Note that most property listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds in living rooms. You will need to establish which bed configuration is best for your vacation family.
  • If there's an individual Brunswick area attraction you simply love, look for rentals that are either close by, or those that cater especially to your needs.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Are you bringing the family pet? Although a number of vacation homes allow pets or animals, guidelines and costs vary per property. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement thoroughly! Additional pet fees or costs could be applied to your agreement.

Know before you go:

  • Review arrival and departure procedures before traveling. Take a printed copy, and add a note with the directions to your smartphone.
  • Record any issues with the rental at check in, and immediately contact the host. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain built-in time stamps that can be helpful if a dispute arises.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a fireplace, elevator or WIFI setup. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents quite a few concerns.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Locals can often help. Who better to ask where to book the best tours, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for shopping?
  • Keep your rental home locked while you're away! Don't let burglars spoil your trip.
  • Re-check the rental property to make sure that you've packed all of your family's items at departure. Check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden items. Clean out the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Walk through the property a final time and keep an eye out for damage. We advise walking through with the property manager whenever you can. If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take photographs of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a wonderful stay? Many vacation rental websites make it easy for guests to provide reviews. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was wrong and they failed to fix it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.
