About this Property

  • Sleeps 6
  • 3 Bedrooms
  • 2 Bathrooms
  • Condo
  • Approximately 900 square feet

"The Surf Spot" 1013 CBAN suite 1 H (Tides II) is A PUP FRIENDLY 2nd story condo managed by Dale and Salt Water Real Estate and may be just the home away from home you are looking for! "The Surf Spot" is a two-bedroom comfortable condo that's just a block from our sandy shores and all the sea sights, sounds, and experiences you are looking for!

Pleasure Island (Carolina Beach, Kure Beach, and Fort Fisher) has become a RAPIDLY increasing vacation (and full-time!) destination for the East coast and beyond for many reasons. Because we are in fact a true island, our "max. capacity" and restricted parking options will always limit the number of visitors who can both rent on and visit our Island simultaneously! Although always relative, this provides a bit more elbow room and open space than average for those looking for more “distancing” and privacy than some bigger public beaches. It’s a family-aligned beach with a touch of everything one might be looking for! It’s an AMAZING place to visit, live, and never leave!

The suite is in the heart of Carolina Beach and moderate walking distance to downtown and everything that is has to offer. In Carolina Beach you’ve got the boardwalk, eateries, and local stores of all kinds. If you like adventures, the marina is also there where you can take an offshore fishing trip, diving excursion, or event boat out for a sunset sail. Camping more your thing? Bring the 4X4 and drive (and camp) on the beach at Freeman Park, located on the North End of the island. You can also head down to Kure Beach and fish directly off their fishing pier compete with bait, tackles, and more! The Carolina Beach Lake is close by, hosting a weekly Farmer’s Market every Saturday, FIREWORKS every Thursday, and outdoor summer movies on Sunday’s (on a huge inflatable screen in the middle of the lake!). We welcome you to sit back, relax and savor yourselves because that's exactly what the beach is for!

These suites are a mixture of the original “period” construction and old-world appeal, a kiss of shabby-chic modernity, and today’s technology because hey, there’s got to be something for everybody! Each suite has its own distinct traits, quirks, and characteristics. Above all else, it should feel like your “home away from home” while visiting with us on our Island!

The entry to this 2 bedroom and 2 bath suite opens into a freshly furnished family room combined with an open dining area and entirely equipped kitchen (stove oven, refrigerator). The kitchen is supplied will all the basic cooking and dining silverware one can expect (plates, bowls, cups, silverware, etc.). In addition, there is a microwave, toaster, coffer maker and blender ready to help make yourself at home (while on Vacay!). Courtesy organic soap and shampoo are left in the bathroom of each suite as well as a (1) starter roll of TP, a (1) garbage bag, dish soap, and a sponge in each kitchen.

The unit's ONE (1) KING bed and TWO (2) TWIN + TWIN bunk beds consists of either a plush luxury bed or a new encased 8” memory foam/cooling gel composition bed because we want all of our guests to be cozy when it comes time to recharge. There is also a Queen pull out couch if needing a bit more space! Remember, linens are NOT included to keep your prices low. You can bring them from home with you, buy them locally, or rent them (refer to Beachside Linens & Units).

There is a 50” Intelligent WIFI TV along with a WIFI computer connection for when it's time to sit back and appreciate some movies or shows after a long day at the beach! Bring a Fire Stick, Apple TV, Laptop w/ HDMI cable or other such casting device if looking to ensure all of the tech amenities from home are available during your stay!

The SUITE: Guests have full access to their own private SUITE and respective private balconies.

OUTSIDE: EVERYTHING outside is "Tides II" condo communal space and is to be shared and treated respectfully. There IS a personal storage closet off the master bedroom balcony!

PARKING: Each reservation will have access to (1) ONE un-assigned parking space in any available "Tides" carport or property parking lot. Be SUPER sure to visibly display your parking permit! Admittedly the lot is a little wonky to traverse at times. Parking elsewhere will likely result in a tow. Any additional community parking spaces would have town availability on a paid first come first serve basis.

•Closest BEACH access: Scotch Bonnet Public Beach Access (Scotch Bonnet Lane).

Pleasure Island is a coastal barrier island in Southeastern North Carolina, USA just south of the City of Wilmington. Pleasure Island is located within Federal Point Township, in New Hanover County. The coastal resort towns of Carolina Beach and Kure Beach, as well as the annexed communities of Wilmington Beach and Hanby Beach are located on the island.

The building itself is roughly one block from the nearest beach access and one block from the ICWW. The property is a long walk or short drive from downtown Carolina Beach with its stores, activities and dining and is equidistant to the smaller, but just as beautiful Downtown Kure Beach with its fishing pier and aquarium. There are fireworks during the summer every Thursday nighttime, movies at the lake each Sunday nighttime, and local fairs around the lake each Saturday morning. Carolina Beach is a mix of friendly locals, snowbirds, and visitors all looking to escape the inland and enjoy the sand, surf, and sun.

Carolina Beach and the surrounding neighborhoods offer an array of sights and activities to enjoy while here. Some of these examples are (but not limited to) a subtle beach hike through CB State Park, Fishing on the KB Pier, kayaking to one of the many islands surrounding the Intracoastal Waterway, watching canons blast during a historical reenactment at the Fort Fisher State Historic Site, or petting some Sting Rays at the NC Aquarium at Fort Fisher. This doesn’t even include the aweing scenery of Airlie Gardens, and our very own battleship (USS NC) in Wilmington! Perhaps more calming and less “adventure” is your speed? Our own local Brewery (Good Hops) along with a round of Frisbee golf may be what the doctor ordered!

And between the beach and Down Town Wilmington, boy do we have FOOD, Festivals, and good times!

There isn’t anywhere or anything on our Island that isn’t accessible with foot power. Downtown Carolina Beach has numerous vendors such as Tony Silvagni’s Surf School @ 308 S Lake Park Blvd, Carolina Beach, NC 28428 (bicycles, paddleboards, surfboards, kayaks, chairs, and umbrellas) for rent as an alternative to walking or driving. There's Sun Fun Units @1204 N Lake Park Blvd Unit F Carolina Beach, NC 28428. Taxi’s (local golf cart taxi’s) and Uber’s are also generally available for an assist when needed as well throughout the island! You can catch a Ferry to Southport in Kure Beach @ 2422 Fort Fisher Blvd S Kure Beach which leads to another ferry to Bald Head Island where NO CARS are allowed at all!

After all, you won’t catch many locals going OTB! (Over The Bridge). Everything you need is right here!

•POOL: Season opening TBD.

•Salt Water Real Estate has partnered with the absolute best vendors our Island has to offer to help ensure guests can spend more time appreciating themselves and less time researching! Our partners include the Tony Silvagni Surf School for professional surf lessons, bicycle, umbrella and chair units, Hot Ticket Fishing Charters, Salty Dog Yoga, Beachside Express Services, Amy’s Rise N Shine, and Griffin Cleaning and linens. GOLF CARTS

•To the county, golf carts are considered automobiles. Generally speaking, golf carts are NOT allowed on premises of ANY condo, condotel, or apartment. The same goes for trailers, motorbikes, etc. For SFR’s or properties supporting multiple cars, carts should be OK. However, be conscious that few homes have external outlets WITHOUT GFCI’S (which are code by today’s standards). Charging a cart on a GFCI will immediately trip the breaker, resulting in the inability to charge a cart amongst other repercussions. Gas carts will generally be the ideal rental option if in a home whose parking supports such.

•Linens (sheets, towels, floor towels, pillowcases, etc.) are NOT part of the suite rental. Pillows and basic comforters ARE supplied. Please refer to the linens chart supplied in the booking site description section for a unit’s bed sizes and plan accordingly. We partner with Beachside Linens & Units for any guests looking to rent a linen package as opposed to bringing or buying your own.

Our top Brunswick area rental booking tips:

When to book a Brunswick area rental home & When to go:

  • Reserve your vacation home as soon as possible. Rental schedules usually open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer vacation rentals during Christmas and Thanksgiving gatherings. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • To find the best vacation home within your budget, we strongly suggest booking in Fall or Spring. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to find larger homes within budget, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the high season. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years are great times to gather with friends and family at your favorite beach.
  • Some property management companies offer rate reductions for veterans. Ask your property manager if special offers are available for your group.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer customers an option to obtain trip insurance. Trip insurance, which generally will cost you anywhere between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed time as a result of medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance might be a a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for program terms and fees.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great information, visitor guide magazines have deals for local tours and attractions.

Planning, selecting, and booking your prefect Brunswick area rental home:

  • First, have your group select the best dates and a spending budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group needs. \"The Surf Spot\": Pup friendly, a Pool, and the Ocean! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise details about bedrooms and bed counts is usually accessible on booking pages. If you don't see them listed, contact the property owner before reserving the home. Note that most properties list the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms.
  • Do your family pets travel with you? Many vacation homes allow animals, but guidelines and restrictions apply. Type of pet, size and breeds may be limited. Make sure to ask before booking, and study your agreement! Additional pet fees or costs might be applied to your agreement.
  • Looking for specific amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Make certain to ask about wheel chair entry, pool lifts and specialized equipment needs.

Know before you go:

  • Put the manager's information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may want instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your property manager. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Lock your vacation home while you're out. Protect your property!
  • During check-in, document any issues with the property and immediately contact the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking restrictions can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll magnify your chance to make some new local friends, and resident neighbors are often an incredible source for finding the best local beaches and restaurants.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Neighbors can often help. Who better to ask where to get the best breakfast in town, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the property to make sure you've collected all personal items. Check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Go through the property one final time and look for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the host whenever you can. If the manager is not available, remember to take photos and video of the rental to record its condition.
  • After your trip, leave feedback! Property owners rely on great feedback to stimulate future reservations. They'll be much obliged for your review. Alternatively, if something went awry, other vacationing families will appreciate that you share your review and help them have the best future vacation. Remember to be objective. If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the property manager had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded quickly to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
