Tips and Tricks to get the perfect vacation property experience:

How to get the best rental home value:

  • Summer is high season in the Brunswick area area. Booking your vacation rental in the Fall or Spring shoulder seasons is a good way to save on your vacation home. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of desirable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the high season.
  • In the Brunswick area area, The earlier your group can book, the better your selection will be. The best vacation homes are booked very early. Reserving your rental property up to 12 months before your vacation is recommended. Holidays such as Christmas and Thanksgiving are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental home.
  • Some owners offer rate reductions for veterans and active duty military. Remember to ask your property manager if special offers are available for your family before you book.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners typically offer renters an option to buy vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather disasters, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for more information.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local shops and fuel stations. In addition to great articles, visitors guide magazines contain deals for local accommodations, restaurants and tours.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Start by having your family decide on the best dates and a max budget.
  • Determine how many beds and the bed configuration your family requires. The Sand Bucket is within walking distance to the beach and boardwalk. has 1 bedrooms and 1 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is generally accessible online. Otherwise, email the property owner before you reserve the rental. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds in living rooms. You'll need to work out what bed configuration is best for your vacation.
  • Does your group require unique amenities? Most websites include search filters for amenities. Use these filters to your advantage to find the perfect rental home.
  • Proper accessibility can make or break a vacation for persons with disabilities. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before booking.
  • Some rentals allow pets, and some do not. Acceptable types of pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional charges may apply. Ask your host about pet restrictions before booking.

More tips for your stay:

  • Review check in & check out procedures before traveling. Save the instructions to your smartphone, and take a printed copy.
  • Make a record of any issues with the property upon arrival, and immediately contact the property manager. We specifically recommend texts and e-mails, as they usually contain time stamps that are beneficial if there is a dispute.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, intercom or kitchen appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disagreeable vacationers disrupting your peaceful home. Employ the golden rule for best judgement. Happy residents may even recommend great restaurants and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for BBQ?
  • Protect the rental owner (and your things!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would back home.
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to confirm you've collected all belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Document the condition of the property at check-out. We recommend taking a video during your final walk-through.
  • Did your family have a great vacation? Most rental home management companies make it easy for clients to provide feedback. If your property and/or property management company was wonderful, they would love to hear about it. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it in a reasonable manner, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make a note as part of your review.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
