Our top Vacation rental tips and tricks:
Finding the best rental value:
- June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. Booking in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rental rates are lower, and you'll find a better selection of suitable properties. Many vacationers use this strategy to find larger homes within budget, or to book a beach front rental that would otherwise be unavailable during the Summer months. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with loved ones at the beach.
- In the Brunswick area area, The earlier you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved early. Booking your vacation rental six to twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Christmas, Thanksgiving and New Years Eve are excellent times to plan and reserve your rental.
- Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property manager whether your group qualifies for a price reduction.
- Property managers often offer guests an option to obtain vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which normally costs anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather disasters, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unanticipated hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance might be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
- Look for your local Brunswick area visitors guide upon arrival. If your rental home doesn't have a copy, you can find them at local shops and visitor centers. In addition to great local stories, travel guides contain money saving offers on local restaurants, attractions, and tours.
Planning and choosing the perfectvacation home:
- Start by selecting your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
- Note the number beds and the bed configuration you need. Shoreline Bluff - Sunset Properties has 6 bedrooms and 4 bathrooms.
- Precise information about bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, email the property owner before reserving your rental. Remember that most listings specify the maximum guest capacity, which oftentimes includes sofa beds and bunks.
- Visiting for a single attraction? Use a map search to find nearby rentals.
- Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for persons with a disability. Make certain to ask about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
- If your family is bringing pets, filter your search for a rental that allows animals. Request specifics on breed, size, and type requirements. Some property owners charge pet deposits and fees.
More tips for your visit:
- Get the owner's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
- Make a record of any damages to the property during check in, and immediately send them to the owner. We especially recommend e-mails and text messages, as they usually contain time stamps that are valuable if a dispute arises.
- Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or kitchen appliance. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief phone call prevents lots of concerns.
- Be respectful of your neighbors. Often times, nearby homes are filled by permanent residents. Respecting quiet hours and parking regulations can make a stay significantly more pleasurable.
- Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
- Keep your rental home locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves ruin your family vacation.
- Don't leave anything behind! Just before departing, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all belongings. Re-check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
- Record a video to document the condition of the property.
- Did you have a wonderful time? Most rental managers make it easy for guests to provide comments. If your rental property and/or property management company was terrific, they would love to hear it. If anything was defective and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make a note as part of your feedback.
