Tips and Tricks to get the very best Brunswick area vacation home experience:

Finding the best value:

  • Summer is the most expensive season along the coast of NC. To book the most suitable rental for your budget, we highly recommend booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of large crowds at popular attractions and restaurants. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation near the ocean? Thanksgiving and Christmas are great times to gather with family and friends at your favorite beach.
  • The earlier your group can book a vacation rental, the easier your search will be. The most desirable vacation rentals are reserved very early. Booking your rental 6-12 months before your travel dates is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation rental.
  • Some property managers offer discounts for veterans. Remember to ask your property manager if rate reductions are available for your family before you book.
  • Booking websites usually offer their guests an option to obtain vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which normally will cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the base reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for missed days as a result of personal medical-related emergencies or weather, as well as evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gasoline expenses. Trip insurance can be a a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your property manager for program terms and fees.
  • Many rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area travel guide magazines which will include special offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or through a partnership between the management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local shops and grocery stores.

Use filters to search efficiently:

  • Choose a designated group leader, choose your dates, and choose a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your family needs. Second-Row Ocean-View Home with Easy Beach Access, WiFi & Central AC has 4 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area rental home search.
  • Precise information regarding bedrooms and bed sizes & counts is almost always available on booking pages. If not, call the property owner before you book your home. Note that most listings specify maximum guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Visiting for a specific attraction or event? If so, use a map search to locate nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility amenities can make or ruin a vacation for the less-mobile. Make certain to inquire about specialized equipment and wheel chair accessibility.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and added fees may apply. Ask the host about pets before booking.

More tips for your visit:

  • Get the property manager's phone number and arrival/departure procedures for your rental property. Store the host's information in your smartphone and wallet.
  • Upon check-in, make note of any damages to the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, television set or WIFI setup. Contact your owner. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent a lot of problems.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful vacationers bothering your life at home. Apply the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and attractions you would have never otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local! Locals can frequently help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to see a beautiful sunrise or sunset, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for crabbing?
  • Protect the property owner (and your stuff!) by locking the rental when you are gone, just like you would at home.
  • On check-out day, take a walk-through to make sure you haven't forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden items. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Please make sure to walk through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We suggest inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can. If the manager isn't available, remember to take photos and video of the property to record its condition.
  • Did your group have a fantastic stay? Many rental managers make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental property and/or host was fantastic, they would love to hear about it. If anything was wrong and they failed to address it within reason, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your review.
