Tips and Tricks to get the perfect Brunswick area vacation rental experience:

Finding your perfect rental home:

  • In the Brunswick area area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the better your selection will be. The best vacation rentals are booked very early. Booking your rental six - twelve months before your vacation is recommended. Holiday gatherings are excellent times to plan and book your vacation rental.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in Oak Island. Booking a rental in the Spring or Fall is our favorite way to save money on your vacation. Rates are lower, and you'll find a larger selection of acceptable homes. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook the holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday near the ocean? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with family and friends at the beach.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your family qualifies for a reduced rate.
  • Property management companies frequently offer customers an option to purchase vacation insurance protection. Trip insurance, which generally will cost 1% - 5% of the stay price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for days missed as a result of personal medical-related issues or weather, as well as ensuing additional hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or extra fuel expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a life-saver if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your host for more information.
  • Many property management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area visitors guides which will include coupons, either offered independently by local businesses, or by way of a relationship with the rental management company and the business itself. You can also find Brunswick area visitors guide magazine and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

Choosing the best rental:

  • To start, have your group choose the best dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many bedrooms and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. Sea Tales: Ocean View Condo with Community Pool, Hot Tub, Across from OKI Pier has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area vacation rental search.
  • Precise descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is generally accessible on booking websites. If you don't see them listed, contact the property manager before reserving the vacation home. Note that most property listings specify the max. guest capacity, which typically includes pull out couches in living rooms.
  • Some properties allow pets, but some don't. Allowable types of family pet, size and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about your furry family members before booking.
  • Are you visiting for a single event or attraction? If so, use a map search to find nearby properties.
  • Appropriate accessibility can make or ruin a vacation for those with limited mobility. .

Tips for your stay:

  • Get the owner's phone number and entry/exit procedures for your rental property. We recommend storing the manager's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a garage door opener, stereo or thermostat. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief text message can prevent many difficulties.
  • Protect the owner (and your things!) by locking the property when you are out, just like you would at home.
  • Upon arrival, record any issues with the rental property and immediately alert the property manager. Record all correspondence just in case a dispute arises.
  • Respecting late-night quiet hours and parking policies can make a stay significantly more pleasurable. You'll increase your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be a terrific resource to find the best local spots.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local! Residents can often help you find exactly what you're looking for. Who better to ask where to take kids for a treat, have a great night out, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Don't leave anything behind! Just before you drive away, walk through the rental property to make sure you've collected all personal belongings. Remember to check bathrooms, garages, and back yards for hidden belongings. Clean the refrigerator and take or dispose of leftovers.
  • Walk through the property a final time and look for damages to contents or the property itself. We recommend walking through with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the property manager isn't available, ensure that you take pictures of the property to record its condition at check-out.
  • Did your family have a great stay? Many rental websites make it easy for travelers to provide comments. If your rental and/or property manager was terrific, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was imperfect and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't described correctly, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.
