Important Information for Your Stay

At BHI Vacations, we want to ensure you have the best possible experience during your visit. Please note that while some homes may provide bicycles or beach towels, we do not maintain or guarantee their availability.

The Bald Head Island Club and Shoals Club operate independently from BHI Vacations, and guest memberships must be purchased directly through each club. Availability varies by home listing, and during the summer season, memberships may sell out quickly. To avoid disappointment, we strongly recommend securing your club membership as early as possible.

Additionally, the Bald Head Island ferry system is independently operated and not affiliated with BHI Vacations. To ensure a smooth arrival and departure, we encourage guests to book ferry and tram reservations well in advance.

Tips and Tricks to get the optimal rental home experience:

Getting the most from your rental budget:

  • Reserve your rental as soon as possible. Rental schedules often open twelve months in advance (or in September just after the Summer season ends). Many families reserve their Summer rental homes during Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Eve get-togethers. Reserve before these holidays for best selection.
  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months in the Brunswick area area. To book the best vacation home within your budget, we suggest booking in Fall or Spring months. You'll enjoy lower rates, better selection, beautiful weather and the absence of giant crowds at Brunswick area restaurants, beaches, and activities. Many vacationers use this method to reserve larger homes, or to book a beach front vacation rental that would otherwise be unavailable during June, July, and August.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may be qualified for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective vacation rental company or host if your vacationing group qualifies for a discount.
  • Property managers frequently offer guests an option to add vacation insurance. Trip insurance, which will generally cost anywhere between 1% - 5% of the reservation price, offers visitors reimbursement of costs for any missed trip time as a result of personal medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as hurricane evacuation charges, such as an unanticipated hotel overnight or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen happens. Ask your host for additional information.
  • Often, rental management companies and vacation rental houses supply Brunswick area area travel guides which often include money-saving offers, either offered directly by local businesses, or by way of a relationship between the management company and the business itself. You can also find visitors guide and coupon books at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers.

How to choose and book your prefect Brunswick area rental home:

  • Choose vacation week and maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and the configuration your group needs. Sandy Bottoms - Beautiful Ibis Roost home! has 3 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms. If you need a larger or smaller rental, use our Brunswick area rental home search.
  • Specific descriptions of bedrooms and bed types is commonly accessible online. If they are not listed, contact the host before reserving the property. Remember that most listings specify the max. guest capacity, which frequently includes sofa beds and bunks.
  • Some properties allow pets, but others don't. Acceptable types of family pet, weight and breeds may be restricted, and added costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.
  • Are you looking for specific amenities? Most rental search websites include search filters with amenity lists. Amenity filters help you quickly remove less-optimal properties.
  • Proper accessibility amenities can make or break a vacation for those with limited mobility. Confirm all necessary amenities are included before reserving a rental.

Additional considerations:

  • Get the host's phone number and check in/check out procedures for your . Put the host's contact information in your smartphone.
  • Hosts are available to help! Feel free to ask any questions before, during, or after your stay.
  • Ensure you protect the rental owner (and your stuff!) by locking the property while you are away, just like you would at home.
  • During check-in, note any issues with the property and immediately alert the host. Keep records of all coorespondence.
  • Respecting quiet hours and parking rules can make a stay more pleasurable. You'll enhance your chance to make local friends, and resident neighbors can be an incredible resource to find the best local beaches and hangouts.
  • Don't forget to... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to launch your kayaks, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for bird watching?
  • Upon check-out, complete a walk-through to confirm you didn't leave anything behind. Remember to check garages, decks, and cabinets for hidden treasure. Clean the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Go through the property one final time and scan for any damage. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever possible. If the property manager isn't available, take photos of the property to record its condition.
  • Remember to leave feedback! Property owners rely on excellent ratings to propel future reservations. They'll be thankful for your feedback. Alternatively, if something wasn't right, other vacationers will will be grateful for your experience and help them have the best future vacation. Please be fair with your feedback If something fell short of expectations, consider whether the host had any control over the issue, and if so, whether they responded reasonably to fix it.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
