Strategies to get the perfect Oak Island rental home experience:

Get the most from your spending budget:

  • June, July, and August are the most expensive months along the coast of NC. To get the largest vacation home within budget, we highly recommend booking in Spring or Fall. You'll benefit from lower rental rates, better selection, gorgeous weather and the absence of large crowds at local restaurants, tours, and activities. Many vacationers use this strategy to reserve larger homes, or to book an oceanfront rental that would otherwise be unavailable or unaffordable during the Summer. Speaking of the off-season, don't overlook Winter holidays for a Brunswick area vacation! Who wouldn't love a holiday vacation on the coast? Christmas, Thanksgiving, and New Years Eve are great times to gather with friends and family at the beach.
  • In the Brunswick area area, The sooner you can book a rental home, the easier your search will be. The best rental properties are booked very early. Reserving your vacation home six to twelve months before your vacation dates is recommended. Winter holidays are excellent times to search for and reserve your vacation home.
  • Active Duty and veterans of the US Armed forces may qualify for special discounts. Be sure to ask your prospective property owner if your group qualifies for a discount.
  • Management companies and individual rental owners often offer renters an option to add trip insurance. Trip insurance, which normally costs between 1% - 5% of the booking price, offers visitors reimbursement of their vacation costs for any days missed as a result of medical-related catastrophes or weather, as well as ensuing additional evacuation costs or charges, such as an unexpected hotel or additional gas expenses. Trip insurance is definitely a welcome relief if the unforeseen occurs. Ask your property manager for details.
  • Look for your local Brunswick area area magazine upon checking in. If your rental doesn't have one, you can find them at local grocery stores, shopping centers, and visitor centers. In addition to great articles, visitors guides have deals for nearby tours, shops, and attractions.

Filter your rental search:

  • Begin by choosing your vacation dates and a maximum budget.
  • Decide how many beds and what type of bedroom configuration your group requires. SSV 207: Oceanfront Condo with Pool and Views! has 3 bedrooms and 2 bathrooms.
  • Precise information about bedrooms and bed counts is regularly available online. If you don't see them listed, contact the host before reserving the vacation home. Remember that most properties list the max. guest capacity, which usually includes pull-out couches and bunk beds.
  • Visiting for a single event? Use a map search to locate nearby rentals.
  • Suitable accessibility can make or break a vacation for the less-mobile. Confirm all necessary amenities are available and included before reserving a rental.
  • Some rental properties allow pets, and some don't. Allowable types of dog or cat, weight and breeds may be restricted, and additional costs may apply. Ask your host about allowable breeds and types before booking.

More considerations for your visit:

  • Add the owner's information to your smartphone. Understand and take a copy of check in/check out procedures.
  • To ensure that damages aren't attributed to your visit, note any problem areas upon your arrival. Contact the rental manager immediately to relay any damages. If there is a dispute about who is responsible, having a record of problems and contact attempts will be useful.
  • Ask questions. You may need instructions for a fireplace, intercom or appliance. Contact your host. They are there to help! A brief call prevents a lot of difficulties.
  • Be a good neighbor! You wouldn't like disrespectful visitors disrupting your peaceful neighborhood. Practice the golden rule for best judgement. If they like you, locals might even recommend great local food and places you would've not otherwise known about!
  • Speaking of neighbors... Ask a local resident! Residents can usually help you find the best spots in town. Who better to ask where to grab the best tacos, have a great night on the town, or the best spots for fishing?
  • Keep the property locked while you are gone! Don't let thieves spoil your family vacation.
  • Upon check-out, take a final walk-through to make sure you have not forget any personal items. Make sure to check dressers, closets, and bathrooms for hidden treasure. Remove everything from the refrigerator and take any leftovers home.
  • Inspect the rental a final time and scan for damages to contents or the property itself. We advise inspecting the property with the property manager whenever you can (often this isn't possible). If the manager is not available, ensure that you take video of the rental to record its condition.
  • Did you have a excellent stay? Many rental management companies make it easy for vacationers to provide reviews. If your rental property and/or property manager was fantastic, they will likely appreciate your kind words. If anything was amiss and they failed to fix it reasonably, or if the vacation rental wasn't as described, you'll want to make it a point as part of your feedback.

Victory Beach Vacations

Visitors who are on the hunt for the postcard-perfect vacation rental in the heart of the Carolina Beach or Kure Beach area will find an enticing selection and plenty of friendly customer service when they rent through Victory Beach Vacations. Based in Carolina Beach in the coastal Cape Fear region, Victory Beach Vacations has more than 100 vacation rentals in all shapes and sizes to ensure that every vacationing family can find their dream home away from home on the beach.   When you book your Cape Fear getaway with Victory Beach Vacations, the fun doesn’t end when you leave the beach, it continues with an array of privately-owned properties outfitted with all of the amenities needed for a fabulous beach vacation.   Jenna Lanier, General Manager, explains that her family first opened the rental and property management business in 2002. At the forefront of Victory Beach operations is Lanier’s mother, Caroline Meeks. Meeks is both the Broker in Charge and co-owner with husband, Buck Meeks, who manages the Field Services team with Lanier’s husband, Scott.   For nearly 20 years, the Victory Beach team has worked tirelessly to establish a network of top-of-the-line rental properties for Cape Fear visitors to enjoy. “As far as our properties go,” explains Lanier, “they are all updated, well-furnished and appointed. “We have always performed post-cleaning inspections and since the pandemic, have put freshly laundered duvets over all of the comforters between rentals.”   Lanier emphasizes how important the guests experience is “we strive to give our guests a relaxing, stress free, memorable vacation.” This emphasis on customer service has led to Victory Beach Vacations having a 4.8 Google rating with over 300 reviews by happy owners and guests. In addition to Victory Beach’s superior sanitation practices, the company offers properties for every type of visitor. Choose from luxury oceanfront houses and condos to more reasonbly priced 2nd row properties with oceanviews. Many properties include pools and hot tubs as well, perfect for outdoor entertaining, and many are dog friendly.   Lanier also notes that all properties are within walking or driving distance to Pleasure Island’s main attractions – Carolina Beach and Kure Beach. The former, as described by Lanier, is the more commercialized of the two destinations and features a boardwalk, outdoor dining options and a plethora of weekly activities including fireworks, live music, amusement park pop-ups, and movies under the stars. Kure Beach offers a more residential feel with its fishing pier, intimate restaurants and family favorite, North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher.More water fun awaits, too. “There is a harbor and a canal that feed into the intercoastal. We have several properties on the harbor so guests can bring their boat, kayak, [or jet ski] and travel between islands,” says Lanier.   A stay with Victory Beach Vacations is an annual pilgrimage for most. “A large percentage of guests are previous guests. Some even reserve the same property for the next year as they’re checking out,” Lanier says. “It’s almost like it’s their personal vacation home.”   Even before guests arrive at their vacation destination, the Victory Beach Vacations’ website greets them with a live beach cam and exquisite aerial footage of both Carolina and Kure Beaches.
